Activity

Here’s a little blurp from the story I was writing on. Helpful to know that the MC is talking to a superhero named Finn.  🙂

“Cool,” I smile. “Maybe you can take me there sometime.”
A hot breeze is drying sweat to my cheeks.
“Humans have never been to the Haven and never will be,” Finn says.
“So you’re saying they’ve never tried to take a human there.”
“No I’m saying, we’re not going to the Haven period. Now stop asking questions and focus.”
“On what?”
“Start with the cactus I’m about to drop on your head.”
I jerk my gaze to the sky. The twenty foot giant covered in spikes as long as my fingers hovers over me. It falls. A scream lurches up in the back of my throat and I throw my fingers above me, spreading them flat.
Hum.
Orange glimmers all around me. The cactus smashes on top of the orb shield— crack— sounding like it stuck both it’s fingers into an electrical outlet. It splits in two parts and rolls over on desert dust.
