@selah-chelyah I think you don’t actually disagree with me/us. 😛 I agree with basically everything you said in your last post. Though I might make a few tweaks to your individual arguments, (such as your argument about FDR) your main theme, that the governments have been full of corrupt and immoral people for hundreds of years, is something I definitely agree with.
I’m afraid you misunderstood what I was referring to when I spoke of our country losing its morals. I was speaking of the general population, who did in fact previously have much higher moral standards than they do now. As I said, it was around the 60s-70s that the moral standards began declining significantly. I did not mean I stopped studying the historical events and influential people after the 60s, but simply that I was no longer interested in studying popular culture and mannerisms of the general population. I conduct those two areas of study in completely separate manners, and prefer the latter, but realize the former is quite necessary. So yes, in answer to your questions, I have heard of all those historical events/people you mentioned, and even mentioned some of them myself previously on this topic. 😉 Does this make more sense to you? Can you agree with me thus far, when I am referring simply to the general American population? If not, I am willing to explain further. 🙂
(Also, I am quite confused as to what you mean by “my country”. 😛 As Ariel’s sister I was sure you live in America, as I do…did you think I lived in some other country?)
Tagging @samantha-pen as part of this conversation. 😀
