Asena paused at the unusual comment. “Murder was not on my itinerary today. I was simply ensuring you wouldn’t attempt to attack me by shifting to a more threatening form.”

He gazed blankly back at her.

Asena continued. “I’d shift back, but shifting under stress or fear makes for a more…secure shift. A kind of safe guard of my ability to prevent changing back if complete loss of concentration occurs. To be honest, it’s more annoying than useful and I can’t fix it until I train more.” She cocked her head. “Any idea where I’m at?”
