Im liking all of this discussion guys. Keep in mind this is a group effort, so there’s naturally gonna have to be compromises and give and take. Since you have such a tight word count limit, I would suggest you start as close to the action as possible, and keep the cast small.

I think the idea of a villain is definitely a good idea that could go far, and all of your suggestions are suggesting a redemptive arc.
