Hi!

I’ve spoken a little about my current WIP here I think. It’s a short story under 8,000 words. I decided to post it here to see what you all think! if you want to, I’ll post some questions I’d like answered:

Hi Lizzie,

So how did “Lucy’s” day begin to go south? How did you first begin to indicate something was going wrong?

If a potential reader was walking through a book store and happened to pick up your book from the shelf, and open to the first page, what lines would you use to hook them in to keep reading? Do you have any examples…[Read more]

I am curious, for all my fellow Mystery/Suspense/Thriller Writers out there, how do you begin your stories of this type? Are you willing to share some of your personal examples of your opening lines from a WIP that you use to grab a reader’s attention?

Here are a few that I have used in some stories:

1. Lost, alone, cold, wet, tired and no one…[Read more]

Hi @lissie-w! I am <del>tired</del> @ScoutFinch190, an irregular on SE.

What books/movies do you like?

How interesting! I’ve never attempted a mystery personally, but I’m somewhat familiar with Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes (mostly movies). Is it hard to come up the clues to a point where they’d be revealing just enough to not be a spoiler?

What’s your WIP?
