I’ve never really thought about this before! In the past I’ve used a name generator but I’ve thought of a few for future stories:

Girls: Rose, Jane, Kate, Jacqueline, Laine, Ruby, Lilian, Mary, Hallie

Boys: Jason, Chance, Chase, Ryan, Mike, Bo, Kyle, Sam, Lukas

My current protagonists are named Sadie Ryans, Wyatt Dickson, and Theo Knapp–I used a name generator originally but then I looked up the meanings and they actually match the characters, which is a happy coincidence.

I like vaguely odd names because they stand out–like if something with the spelling or sound is a little different. For some reason I’m better at thinking up guy names–I’ve got to work on that 🙂

Any of y’all like making up last names? Some of the ones I like are Sterrett, Knapp, Michaelson, Larson, and Haskell.

@h-jones those are so neat! I love the idea of giving villains normal names. I’ve never written about one (I’m working on a man vs. nature story if that makes sense) but I have to keep that in mind when I do!
