It came about suddenly. No one suspected it. No one suspected him. And before we had opportunity to defend ourselves against his plan, we lost the battle.

Being a small town with a big heart, we were entirely too open and welcoming to most. We [welcomed] even the most cantankerous of fellows. It turned into a miraculous blessing for everyone involved.
