I have an extremely vivid mind’s eye. Almost to the “things I imagine stay there even when my eyes are open” stage. My dreams are full-color, 3d, and highly realistic movies, and so are many of my stories.

My current protagonist popped (literally) out of a bush while I was doing a rambling brainstorm/freewrite, and he was a fully formed human being with red hair, a goatee, and a tan coat- and he started gabbing in an Irish accent.

It’s not as helpful as you might think though, because I still struggle at describing what I see adequately enough to allow others to see it too.
