<p>Technically, the parents <em>can</em> be involved if the problem involves genetics. For instance, if the mom was alcoholic or violent, people might assume that Jane will be too when she gets older, but the likelihood of the foster family actually knowing that is slim, so yeah, they don&#8217;t really affect much.</p>

<p>Okay, so about the number. It would greatly depend on <em>why</em> she has not been adopted by now. I mean, seriously, a newborn baby gets snapped up very quickly, especially if there are no parents to cause trouble. <p>I like to read a wide variety. I enjoy true histories, like documentaries, memoirs, etc. but I also enjoy well-written historical fictions that are infused with real facts.
