Okay, so I have a character who has a severely injured right shoulder/collar bone due to being attacked with a metal bar. He also has a concussion, but I already have someone I know who’s recently had a pretty bad one. So forget about the concussion.

What I’d like to know is what you can actually realistically do with a broken collar bone/shoulder from someone who has actually broken those bones before. The medical technology is only England, early 1700s, so keep that in mind. Also, when can you start to do more with them, timeline-wise?

(I have this feeling that my character is currently doing nearly impossible things just two days after the attack.)
