Hey! I’m new to the guild and I’m just now checking everything out. I was reading through all of your amazing ideas and really loved what you guys came up with! Since a 2,500-word story is fairly short, I think it would be beneficial to find ways to pack a lot into each idea. For instance, we could show the horrors of being a chimney sweep and the kindness of the pixies by having him get stuck in a chimney. He would be afraid of the pixies at first because of the stigma, but once they help him out he would befriend them. Perhaps this happens while he’s trying to tell the news of the assassination, making him hard pressed for time.

I don’t mind if we use that or not. It’s just an example of packing a lot into each of our ideas 🙂 The pain of short stories is that us writers are expected to summarize the massive worlds we keep in our heads. It’s a challenge, but at least it’s fun.
