Name:  Jake Fisher
Personality:  He’s a little uptight at first.  He’s already had some experience in the force, but his latest job is nothing like what he’s had before.  He learns to loosen up eventually and ends up completely adapting to his situation in order to survive.
Role:  Jake Fisher was, at first, a police detective for York’s overwhelmed law department.  In a last-ditch effort to prevent the complete corruption of the city, Jake was sent to infiltrate the criminal haven, Royale, to the deepest extent.  No one leaves the Royale unchanged, though, and by the end of the story–Jake Fisher is not the man he once was.
Story Arc:  Fisher’s mission spans over the series, but as time draws on, his objective changes.  Originally a determined, reluctantly hopeful (and slightly naive) man, being encompassed by the ubiquitous drama of the criminal underworld forces him into a new mold–an embittered, hardened person with a drastically-altered moral code and conscience.  Partially responsible is Stacy, a previous rival also looking for power in the Royale, who ends up leading him down a different path and eventually becomes his wife.  Fisher completes his transformation by finally overpowering the Don and seizing the reigns of York’s criminal society–becoming the latest in a long line of ingenious, all-powerful kingpins that have long reigned over York.
