@kr-lalonde, I don’t know if this helps or not, but just in case it does: What I like to do with a writing prompt (I’m thinking of a dialogue kind of prompt, but I don’t know if that’s what you’re working with) is try to identify a character or two and figure out their key characteristics, get a basic feel for what the plot will be like, and discover what theme(s) the prompt is pointing to. If the plot, character, and theme are all imbedded in the prompt, and the rest of the story is just working those three things out and weaving them together, I think the finished product will reflect the prompt in the most important ways. Anyway, whatever you do, I’d love to read it and give feedback!
