Hi! I’m Jared, currently writing a fantasy romance novel. However, my characters come from a YA fantasy series I’m working on (which the fantasy romance is a prequel to).

I don’t play by the normal fantasy magic/race tropes but come up with all original magic systems (called essence) and races (about 12 different original races, so far…). You can check them out here if you’d like. https://worldofkaphar.weebly.com

Abirami is an aygiff (shape shifts into animals). Orphaned six years ago, he has built a family for himself made up of orphans from other races and is fighting an evil emperor in an attempt to protect those he loves and cares about. He seeks power to protect others and doesn’t know the definition of limitations (which puts him in a bind more than once – and he easily jumps at opportunities that lead him to sacrifice himself for the sake of those he cares about). He’s 18, has scraggly hair and heterochromia – one eye is cobalt blue, the other emerald green. He wears a robe, so he can shed his clothes to transform into animals in a moments notice, but don’t worry, he has magically imbued “boxers” called a gaaban that stretches with his transformations, so he’s not naked when he transforms back into a person (though the gaaban doesn’t work if the transformation is too big (like an elephant) or too small, (like a mouse)). There’s more, like mythical creatures, etc… but that’s the gist of the short version. =)

Ku’Aya is a aelacrin, a short race with green skin, mohawks, half-blossomed tulip-like ears, and the ability to control insects and arachnids. Their race is typically ostracized and shunned as social undesirables, but Abirami has adopted Ku’Aya (Ku for short) into his family. Ku adores and looks up to Abirami, but she also grew up alone in the slums, and doesn’t know how to show her emotions. She’s cynical of others and has a strong survival instinct.

I’m pretty knew to the castle myself; however, just before I came into the story, the people in the castle defeated a dragon… My characters show up and mistook the people there for spies for the emperor and went on the attack. A time-bender stops Abirami and convinces him they aren’t enemies. Abirami then uses a magical artifact from his world to heal (take on the wounds) of those he had hurt in the short battle. Ku sent out her insects to get the lay of the castle and accidentally trips a trap that releases poisoned gas across the first floor of the castle. Ku led everyone up to the second floor. There, they entered a room where a man that looks like the Son of God offers each of them a wish if they can find an Easter egg and answer the riddle within.

Abirami answers the first riddle and asks that each person in the castle to obtain an elixir that will heal them to full health, even from the brink of death. And his wish is granted. Someone else finds an egg (left it open for whomever) and the last post ends with that riddle… for anyone who wishes to continue it… (if no one is interested though, I can give the answer out…) but the castle has slowed down some… =(     I figured an easter event would be fun… and I know many are just busy… so either way, if we want to move to something else, we can… or if we want to do the event… =) things could get interesting… 😉

Oh, and I don’t know your characters, but yeah, they are welcome!
