Ooh I might have to check in on the other guildmasters for opinions here, but the way I understood it was that the cliche scene where the guy gets the girl, or everything works out in the end, is the ‘cliche’ ending we’re avoiding. Not that it’s cliche/expected for that story in particular, but that it’s simply one of those endings you think of when someone says “cliche happily ever after”.

@ashira I would love that idea but…it’s bittersweet! Having someone die can’t be 100% happy, and will always have that bittersweet tone, so that one won’t work.

I’m loving how many different ideas are being thrown around, guys! 😀
