@faith_blum I went to look it up and try find something substantial for you, but I just came up with novel lengths too. xD

It’s mostly just a matter of reading other books in your genre and scraping them into one big generalization. Historical Fiction, for example, is often pretty average on the scale of paragraph lengths, sitting about it the middle. Sentence length is usually on the slightly long side of the middle range.

That doesn’t mean that some paragraphs can’t be short and some sentences can’t be short. But the average paragraph and sentence length in a novel has some sort of effect on the feel and style of it, I think.
