Enydd is being ridiculously stubborn with me, revealing she has a different side to her but refusing to show it to me. Because of her refusal to cooperate, her narrative may seem out of character at times.

    ENYDD:

There were voices coming from further down the room. New voices. I groaned. Wonderful. This meant that there were probably more trigger-happy, angsty killers. Either that or pessimistic people who always had a sarcastic comment for every situation imaginable.

I dug the bottom of my palm into my forehead. Stop it! You haven’t even met these people! They could be a friendly lot for all I know. Don’t start assuming things about people you haven’t even met. Stop it!

Double-checking that I had those thoughts fully submerged under memories of all the friendly people I had ever met, I walked towards the voices. As I drew closer, I heard the distinct tone of…arguing.

“No assumptions,” I whispered to myself before stepping out of the shadows.

My former observation was correct. These were new people. One. Two. Three, four, five, six. Six of them. Lorcan was a familiar face though that didn’t make the situation any less uncomfortable.

Since interrupting the heated debates with a cheerful introduction seemed unwise and dangerous, I opted to stay on the sidelines and smile pleasantly. My strategy? Hoping that the pessimistic people would haughtily ignore me, the dangerous ones dismiss me as harmless, and the friendly ones see me as a kindred spirit.
