As the plane dipped down, Shannon yanked out her earbuds and gripped the chair tighter. Her head suddenly felt light-headed and she couldn’t process anything, until the next moment she realized they were dropping rapidly. Panic clawed her heart and she opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came out.

She squeezed her eyes to clear her spinning head for a moment before noticing something yellow dangling in front of her.

Oxygen mask. 

Was that why it was so hard to focus and breathe?

She willed her right hand to let go of the chair and reach for the mask. Some relief spread over her as she inhaled, sucking as much oxygen as possible.

Pure terror filled her the moment after as the plane took another dive.

This can’t be happening! Lord, please help us! 

She began to turn her head toward the window, when there was piercing noise and everything went black.
