Activity

@taylorclogston I did enjoy it, to an extent. It wasn’t a page-turner and was pretty slow, but I found it interesting how he approached his personal contribution to the reconstruction of the South, and how some very basic things that we often over look, can make all the difference. It’s a good reminder to not take for granted some basic opportunities and skills, such as brushing teeth. I also found it encouraging and somewhat sobering how much the freed slaves were eager to learn how to read and such – another example of something we take for granted so often.

I found it interesting on another level, since I’ve found an interest of going into the field of pedagogy and how he built from scratch the school with the hopes to really change some lives through education. I thought it neat. 🙂

Do you remember what you thought about it?
