Everyone’s WIP sound so cool!
Mine I just started last week. It was inspired by a random sentence that popped into my head about a year ago and I tucked away until now. I dusted it off and began anew. Here’s the sentence and I love it as a opening line if I may say so. 😉
They had never heard of their Uncle Fred until he died and still their mother wouldn’t say much.
I’ve not ironed out all the plot points and I’m not sure if I will completely, but here’s a basic summary of what I have so far:
Chris and Alice had never heard of their Great Uncle Fred, but one day their mother gets a note in the mail that says he has “passed away” (SPOILERS: He’s not dead. 😛 Like that’s a surprise… xD) and the letter requests their presence for the reading of the will. They learn that their parents’ really don’t want to talk about it, apparently Uncle Fred was… crazy. And no one likes to talk about it. They arrive at the house expecting to only have to stay a night or two, but the lawyer reveals that the will specifically asks to only be read one page a day. So all of “Uncle Fred’s” nervous relatives are stuck in his strange mansion for a couple weeks and none of them are happy about it. Then Chris and Alice, start getting strange notes and clues that lead them al over the grounds and finding strange things – including a strange tunnel that leads underground from the cellar to one of the neighbor’s gardens. (Remember Miss Agnes’s garden?? @julia 😉 )
Anyways, so I could use some help:
1. What’s the best way going about writing a mystery?
2. Any ideas that the opening line sparked to help my brainstorm. Please send!!! 🙂
3. Title ideas … I have so much trouble coming up with title. 😛 It’s pitiful. xD
