Let it be known that I have never laughed so hard while reading about such a morbid subject. You guys are nuts. XD
Something that really annoys me about the assassin trope is that they generally look intimidating. They’re either the cocky vigilante with an ego the size of a mountain and a reputation even larger, or the silent, deadly types who make a point of sitting in shadows just for effect, and scare people merely by looking in their general vicinity.
I personally want to see assassins who are tiny little wisps of fluff with big eyes and pudgy cheeks and a love of swishy dresses—and could also stick a knife in your back while giggling shyly. Or tall, nerdy creatures who wear spectacles and use massive words and say strange things to their targets, like, “I’m sorry to make you absquatulate the world so early, but you see, I must take every opportunity to quomodocunquize.” Or someone who’s the basic equivalent of a hobo, and only takes on jobs every once in a blue moon so he can buy new gloves to replace his old ratty ones.
The idea behind assassins is that they ought to be someone you DON’T expect to kill you, someone who doesn’t look scary or remotely threatening—otherwise, they’ve totally failed at their job. So I don’t get what the deal is with black leather.
