Pia glared at him for a long moment. She roughly jerked her shoulder from Eliana’s touch. “Maybe I should leave. I don’t fit into this group and will be of no help to aid you.” She gripped her pike hard.

Kallun’s eyes widened. “Pia! That’s not true.”

“let him tease, Pia, we need the smiles.” K’Nika added.

Pia shook her head. “I should go and… and give myself up.”

“No! No, no, no!” Kallun reached out in the direction of her blindly searching for her. K’Nika helped him, and his hands found her shoulders. “I won’t let you do that. Your father will kill you.”

”Maybe… but it would buy you some time. They are coming for you too, you know.” She murmured, his touch on her shoulders had started to mollify her.

He was silent for a moment. “I’m not losing you again. You’re staying with us.”
