Eg, so the villains come to the painting, and take it away, but the jealous painter dude wants it to destroy da Vinci’s reputation (eg he wants to get the painting and dab paint all over it, like Julia said). So the jealous guy is chasing the villainous trio who are trying to lose him by jumping all over history, and da Vinci, who doesn’t know about the trio, is chasing the jealous painter because he thinks that this is all his doing. Maybe both painters could be friends in the end and that could lead to some kind of theme…What d’yall  think?
