Factors we should consider:

-Character’s family life and background

-The overall plot and theme of the book

-Other characters

-The antagonist

Hmmm, let’s see…

Sometimes it’s inevitable that people should sin. We’re humans. Characters are human. We all sin. I was watching Code Geass and Lelouch commands Suzaku to live, against Suzaku’s will, because Suzaku is a very selfless person but now, because of this command, he does anything to live. But that’s just an example of force.

I think it would be helpful to come up with a list of virtues, a list of vices, and then make sure there are at least two contradicting each other, in accordance to the plot and theme. And sort of diagram it.
