Lol this is funnnnn
Yila
“Okay?” the man said uncertainly.
Yila had unnerved him.
Good.
He sighed and threw up his hands in surrender. “I won’t hurt anyone unless it’s absolutely necessary. Besides, I’m unarmed.”
He was clearly trying to make his voice sound friendly.
Yila almost felt patronized. Almost.
But the one shred of sense left to her after all the years of destroying her conscious told her to give him a chance.
“I hope you will keep your word for your sake,” she said. It came out as more of a spit than a warning, and she resisted the urge to sigh.
Sometimes she hated herself. Okay. More like all the time.
She glared at him a moment longer before whirling around and returning to her seat. Her hand never left the hilt of her dagger.
“Very dramatic,” he muttered behind her.
She rolled her eyes.
Dramatic was the wrong word. Frustrated with life and castle would probably be a better way of putting it.
She glanced at him when she’d returned to her post on the wall. He was sitting down, massaging his leg.
Huh.
She’d send Niarok over to him once he finished his conversation and she finished fuming for no particular reason.
