And writers are always the best DnD players- if the GM can make the antagonists personal, then you’re probably in for a good time.

EDIT: Yes, you have heard of Fate Core. I’ve always wanted to play a game of that, but it feels like it needs more to scratch that Tactics itch. GURPs involved too many calculations/units, and DnD feels like it doesn’t take into account character that much.
