*appears suddenly out of the shadows*

Greetings from Narnia, everyone!! (Seriously. I had no idea that vacationing in Tennessee would feel like I died and went to my version of heaven.) Sorry it took me so long to progress from watching y’all talk to actually stepping out of my shady corner and adding in my two cents. But I just couldn’t stay away this time!

@ariella-newheart, HOMESCHOOLERS UNITE!!!!! I may be in an online school for my senior year, but my traditional homeschool roots are strong, and guess what! I gave up my senior graduation at NCA so I could graduate a true homeschooler. You never know a good thing till it’s gone, right? Man, was homeschooling ever the best thing for me…

@obrien-of-the-surface-world I am a Gen Z myself. Just figured the term out not too long ago. I am also a Y2K kid!! (January 2000, anyone?)

Anyways, I noticed all you wrote about today’s media being more geared towards themes like hopelessness and such, and I gotta say, I have sadly noticed the same thing. My family recently watched all the Mazerunner movies for the first time, and halfway through the series, I had to walk away. It wasn’t all the violence and bloodshed that bothered me, although that was way too excessive. It was all the themes of dystopia and a world ravaged by evil with no hope of salvation. In addition, I also noticed that the creators of the movies blended the basic themes of good and evil until they were beyond recognition, even for me, almost. I had to go back to the simplest, most black-and-white of God’s commandments that I memorized as a younger child, to make sure my morals were in the right place! I used to want to read and watch books and movies like Harry Potter and the Hunger Games trilogy, but now I’m so glad I hesitated. I will most certainly not expose myself to such content now that I have been forewarned by my experiences with other similar stories.

What’s my point? My point is, I too have seen what this world’s media is quickly racing towards, and I too wish to combat it with the gifts God has placed in my doubting, but willing, hands! And I am so glad I didn’t give up when my first novel, although self-published, wasn’t my best writing. I am now much more confident and skilled, and yearn to be even better! And I can’t wait to see what lives God changes through me.

I suppose if you had one word to summarize everything I’ve said in reply to you, it would be: AMEN!!!

Now I’m gonna go continue my fantasy series…
