@scribbles Irish Gaelic. I stated learning it on Duolingo four weeks ago. So I wouldn’t quite claim to speak it. But I can ask for the water (instead of doing it in Spanish as I have for many years), and say that I’m not a man, that I like chocolate, and that water is drinking an owl (funniest recent mistake).

I spent some of New Year’s Eve visiting friends and playing with their little kids. Then we went home and to bed, though not to sleep until after midnight.

1st writing goal: Finish a novella to submit to a fairytale retelling challenge by the middle of February. (That will require Beta readers, and all the scary feedback stuff I’ve hardly done.

2nd: Finish editing my first book  and also send it to beta readers.

3rd: I’ve got a book half drafted and another

4th: I’ve got another fairytale retelling novella to write, this one a prequelish story to the book of Goal 2. I’ve got two characters, a bit of setting and only the barest beginning of a plot. So that will potentially be fun.
