Update:

Another week has gone by and I did quite a bit of editing. I’m getting reacquainted with characters and fixing their arcs and the theme of the story. It’s so much fun to explore character motivations. My friend and I also worked out whether two characters are distantly related. Turns out they’re cousins of a step-cousin. (The family tree is hilariously complicated. We used water bottles to represent different people and talked quite animatedly—and I managed to not give away any book spoilers, I hope. 😛 )
