Hmm. While I haven’t been active in a long time, I do agree with the thought that close communities form with people who “click.” I’ve been in another writing group for almost a year now. Some of the people I’m closer with than others. And some of those friends weren’t there when I first joined the group.

I also agree that the guild wars draw us closer together. They “force” us to work together. It’s really neat to see everyone’s minds working together in the brainstorming chat.

But just like in a real war (okay, I’m just guessing here, never been in a real war ;D), if you’re in the middle of a conflict, you’ll rely on the others on your team to get out of it. But you might not hang out with the same people who just saved your life when it’s time for dinner, if you know what I mean.

Meeting up in real life is incredibly fun! I just did it at a writing conference and wow, it was amazing. *drifts off into daydream about the conference*
