Here’s another scene I wrote. It’s like pioneer time.

 

When I entered the scene, I thought someone was dying. Maddie was face-first on the floor, Cassy looked about to throw up, and Jane was happily skipping about.

“What’s going on?” I asked in shock at the scene.

“Oh, we’re practicing,” Maddie said flipping over to her back.

“For, what?” I asked, concerned for them.

“For if a boy asked us for a dance!” Cassy said, her face turning back from green to tan.

“We all started standing in a circle,” Maddie said.

“And we all prepared to curtsy,” Jane chimed in getting excited.

“Okay,” I didn’t see a problem in this.

“But when we curtsied, Maddie and Cassy nocked noggins,” Jane said, giggling.

“That doesn’t explain the skipping,” I said.

“Oh yes,” Cassy said. “We all acted how we would if there were actual people around.”

“And so Maddie, we all know this, she fell to the floor as if she fainted,” Jane said.

“Yeah, and Cassy pretended that she felt ill,” Maddie added.

“And Jane was the only girl to dance!” Cassy exclaimed. “We will never make that mistake again!”
