    Lorcan

Aydin was back too, it seemed. Things appeared to be – frostier between him and Liorah. Lorcan wondered how much time had passed since he last saw them. And what had changed. A lot apparently.

He was secretly relieved at least that Aydin was alive. He definitely preferred him over that high and mighty princess.

He sat down on a rock and began to drum his fingers against the surface. How he longed to be using them for pulling the ropes of a sail, skinning a hunted seal or even playing the bodhrán. Instead he was stuck here in this stinking mess. Well – it wasn’t all bad…

He looked over at Yila. He noticed the way she held herself, the way the light reflected off her dark hair, the way her eyes shone with determination. She met his gaze, and immediately blushed.

Lorcan smiled, pushed himself to his feet and made his way towards her. He stopped in front of her, suddenly feeling unsure. Did she fear him, after what the castle tried to make him do to her and her brother?

He cleared his throat. “May I – sit?”, he asked in a gravelly tone.

Her blush turned darker, but she nodded. He sat down, breathing out deeply and glanced at her. She was fidgeting with her knives, and doing everything in her power not to look at him.

”I hope I didn’t scare you too much,” he said into the silence, his voice a deep baritone. “He have no intention of harming you or your brother. You have my word.”

She nodded quickly. Still she wasn’t looking at him. Out of shyness perhaps?

He leaned forward slightly, bending his head slightly so he could catch her eye. She glanced at him, startled. He smirked at her. She gave a somewhat shy smile back. Lorcan’s chest constricted slightly. Woah. She really was quite pretty.

“So,” he said softly. “Do you want to tell me who you are Yila?”
