Wowww I have a bad habit of double posting… I’m sooo sorry.
Also this is so random but I’m curious how Niarok would react if I pulled Yila.
Okay no. I’m not doing that.
Also forgot to mention that Evie’s wearing a tan dress that hits just below her knees.
Evie
“What is this place?” she snapped, her voice carrying to the edges of the cavern.
Now everyone was staring at her, their expressions full of pity mixed with shock and apprehension.
Apparently she cut an intimidating figure, even afraid and with a pounding headache. And wearing her training dress with all its flattering tears and rips and mud stains.
The man sitting next to the one who reminded her of Kathreya focused on her, and she winced. Great.
He stood and started approaching her. She spread her feet, ready to take an attack, but he stopped several feet from her.
That was something at least.
“I don’t know. We all ended up here. I’m Aydin,” he said, not meeting her eyes.
Hmm.
He wasn’t acting like he wanted to attack, but she’d been deceived by such before.
“It’s better to be underestimated. Be ready for the attack, but don’t make it obvious you are.”
Okay then, Kathreya. Forgot that tip.
She relaxed a believable amount.
Let him think she was unprepared.
But he didn’t attack.
“Do you want to join us over in the corner?” he asked. His eyes darted towards several of the other people who were staring at her.
Oh yes. I would voluntarily sit with a couple of war machines.
“I suppose,” she said.
She’d rather have a wall at her back than a dark tunnel.
Aydin led her over to the corner, and she felt the eyes of every single person following her movements.
This was terrible.
She nodded slightly to Aydin, sitting a good distance away from him and the blue-eyed man.
She wanted them all in her sights.
But she also really wanted to sleep. The headache was getting worse.
“I’m Niarok,” a deep voice said.
She glanced at the blue-eyed man. He was looking at her like he could see into her soul. Maybe he could. Kathreya could. It wasn’t impossible.
And for some reason it didn’t make her uncomfortable.
“Evie,” she reciprocated. Not that it was such a great idea to give her name to a rabble of strangers, but if her voice had carried the way it was supposed to, only Aydin and Niarok knew what she’d said.
“Welcome to the Castle,” Niarok said. There was an ironic amusement in his tone, and Evie suspected she’d stumbled upon some sort of dark inside joke that she was about to get very in on.
How very exciting.
Just a wonderful way to start of her morning.
“Do you have breakfast?” she asked.
Niarok smiled and stood, walking around to where the girl with the black hair sat. He handed her a knife and then grabbed a pack and carried it back to where Evie and Aydin were sitting.
He rummaged through the pack and tossed her a package. She tore it open and found official military type rations inside.
This guy was legit.
She scanned the crowd while eating the dried meat.
Meanwhile Niarok was offering a package to Aydin.
This had to be the most awkward thing she’d ever done.
At least she was used to rations.
I didn’t know where to go from there… AYDIN I NEED YOU!!!! XD
