@wishingwell13 Oooh…I had an Alex in my books before I changed his name to Alek. 😉 That sounds like a really cool story! I’m curious about the personalities of the characters. Here’s a little formula that I use for getting to know my characters better. (If you don’t need something like that then feel free to ignore it.)

What is your character’s name, age, birthday, appearance, and height? (You often won’t directly include information such as age or birthday or height in your story, but it helps to have as much info about your character as you can.)

What is your character’s personality type? What are their character traits?

How does your character perceive him/herself? What is something that they like about themselves and something that they do not like?

How do they understand and relate to others? Are they able to empathize with others, or are they sometimes uncertain of how to respond?

What are your character’s insecurities? Are they worried about what others think of them? Do they fear being unable to keep their promises or letting their friends down? Are they hurt when others poke fun at them and their interests or ignore their admonitions? Are they insecure about their own appearance or stature?

Is your character’s sense of humor dark? Light? Cynical? Subtle? Bitter? Confident? Silly? Sarcastic? Do people often understand their humor?

What is their temper like? Do they need to learn to control it? Do they try hard to conceal it? Do they get angry easily, or only if there is good reason? Will your character yell and shout when they are angry, or will they remain silently resentful? Does your character keep grudges, or do they forgive easily?

What are the details of their past?

What do they fear the most?

What are their talents and hobbies?

What are their likes and dislikes?

You don’t always have to follow a specific formula like this, but I have found it helpful in the past. 😛

Oh, and is Kite a boy or a girl?
