I actually think that your drawing of Mayra is quite good!  I feel like I can get a really good picture of her personality and character by looking at it, which is really cool.  There’s a level of fierceness and intensity in her face that is just really interesting, and I think it’s super cool!  What kind of a character is she?

Ah thanks, that makes me happy lol. So in my story Mayra is a teen orphan who suffers from Expressive/Non-fluent Aphasia, which means she has trouble getting words out and can only speak in short sentences, but she  can still understand people. Its partially inspired by my own experience in childhood, I had trouble with speaking and vocabulary. Except in her case, Mayra got it due to damage done to her brain in a mysterious incident when she was small that left her with a severe scar running along the left part of her face and neck and a damaged eye. She has stealth abilities and also has telekinetic powers that appeared after she saved a stranger’s life. At the beginning of Book 1 she is working for a criminal who exploits her abilities and abuses her. Due to her truama, she suffers from a form of anti-social personality disorder and complex PTSD. She has very low morals, she only thinks about her own goals and survival and how she can use and manipulate people for her own self-interest, and is also emotionally detached. She also has very low self-worth and sees herself as an evil person who deserves to suffer, but deep inside she does have a good heart. So her arc is basically a redemption arc for her, because despite all the things she did, she’s chosen to be one of the deliverers of humanity.

Your story sounds really interesting!  Is it the Faeries’ military that is taking over the world, or the British empire’s military under the Faeries’ control?  Also, please tell me if this is too invasive, but do you have Irish heritage?  You mentioned that it’s a patriotic story, so I thought I would ask 🙂

Thanks! And its the Faeries military that are doing it though humans also serve them by becoming their soldiers. I’m kinda still figuring it out haha. And no don’t worry your question is not invasive at all, thanks for asking! 🙂 I am actually Irish myself, I was born and raised in Ireland and I currently live there. Its a huge part of my identity, therefore I’m very patriotic🙂 so i wanted to incorporate that into my WIP as its based on Irish mythology.

He’s very kind and compassionate, so he just might see through Lorcan’s tough exterior 😉
