A wave of pain came over her head and she staggered. Her muscles were on fire and her vision was turning all blurry. The fiery boy was saying something to her. She could barely hear him over the roaring in her ears.

She was so tired, so heavy. Blood streamed from her nostrils into her mouth, so much so she almost choked. Why was she helping these people? She didn’t know them! They had nothing to do with her. And they were just slowing her down. She just wanted to give up and let go and just-
