  • I feel like that there can and there can’t.

Like, there could be so much conflict that’s it’s impossible for the character to deal with it all, but I feel like that reaching that point would be hard.

But then you could just keep on adding suffering and pain, suffering and pain…

I think that you shouldn’t go overboard on the internal conflict. One or two internal conflicts is enough.

Antagonistic forces…I usually find at the climax of a book it’s just the bad guy and his most loyal henchman. I’d like to see some variation on that.

At the same time, I really hate the cliche where the MC is fighting off entire armies of…things. Like anything. Humans, stormtroopers, monsters…but they aren’t humanized, and the MC isn’t getting killed. Like, if I were in battle, I would feel real bad about killing anything…

    Enough with the rant.

Too much conflict is confusing for the reader, too hard to follow. Like say his mom’s calling him to come downstairs right now but he’s in a facetime argument with his best friend and there’s a flock of birds seeking revenge and he’s trying to kill this spider and clean up his orange soda and the wifi just crashed and he doesn’t know how to break up with his girlfriend and…

Like that’s a little wild and extreme, but you get the idea.

I think that you should have as much conflict as your MC can handle, or is as possible (is that right?) as it is humanly able to handle (that didn’t come out right) because stories are supposed to be relatable.

Of course, we’re all different..but…you get the idea.
