Activity

The boar erupted out of the thicket in a rage, goring a few of the dogs that were not quick enough to get out of the way.  It was massive, much larger than they’d anticipated, and almost immediately broke through the circle of spearmen around the thicket.  As the boar charged their way Amrath danced his mare to the side, out of the boar’s path, but Xavier’s horse spooked and bolted further into the blue-leafed fae forest.

It was several minutes before he could calm her down to a canter, and then a trot, so he could gain some bearing on where he was.  Here almost all the trees had azure foliage.  And when he checked his mare and turned around, he could not see the path she’d trampled through the underbrush.  “This bodes well,” the prince whispered, glancing around beneath the branches.  His right arm was still resting in a sling to prevent further agitation to the injury, so it would not be of much use.  Sighing, the young man resigned himself to wander the woods until he strayed upon his party once more.
