It’s kind of funny, but I didn’t think I’d like Fawkes that much and I ended up enjoying it, and I thought I’d really like Mark of the Thief but I found it a bit disappointing. I haven’t read the last book yet though. Have you read Romanov or My Lady Jane? Those are some other historical fantasies I’ve heard of. I also found some Victorian fantasies by Charlie Holmberg, but haven’t read any yet. My friend said Spellbreaker by her was really good though.

I’m afraid I’m not very familiar with classical violin–I should listen to classical more often–but I do enjoy modern violinists like Taylor Davis and Lindsay Stirling.
