Erin could tell that by the way Brin acted that she was terrified by heights and would never do what Erin wanted of her own free will.

“I did find a way down,” Erin said cooly, taunting the fox by easily pacing on the very edge of the roof without any outward expression of worry. “Are you glad about that?”

The fox nodded timidly.

“Then you’d be happy to help. Right?” Erin cooed, squatting down by her.

Brin cocked her head.

“Brilliant.” Erin scooped up the fox and before Brin had the time to register what she was doing, flung her from the roof.
