You both have a very good point that we do have to consider.

What if we were thinking about the villain in that the reader wouldn’t know he was the villain until the hero kills him. So they get to see how he’s just been manipulated/twisted/scarred into this character he is now. They see how he’s fighting for what he thinks is right.

No idea if it’ll actually work, so give your opinions and ideas everyone. Don’t be afraid to disagree (nicely) with others. (Especially me.)
