  • I actually got a little more of a sneak peak of this on Patreon and I’m really excited!

To answer the question, I hold the conviction that I am called to write. The odd thing is that I technically do a lot of writing for my day job even though it’s nowhere in the job description. I think being a good writer makes you better at a lot of other things and makes you a useful employee. To me, it’s all about seeing the deeper meaning in a given thing and then finding a way to convey that meaning to your audience succinctly.

That being said, I don’t think I’ll ever write “full-time” just because I’m too interested in too many subjects to pin myself down to writing exclusively. However, I do hope that by using my writing ability coupled with my entrepreneurial spirit I can make story craft the central point of my family’s income. I look forward to the day when the majority of my time is spent on either crafting creative projects or figuring out ways to distribute those stories.

It’s a subtle but important shift to be able to apply the same creative power to business practices and strategies as I do to my stories. I do this in my current job, but I’m working toward enabling myself to apply my energy toward conveying the deeper meaning of the things of God to my audience.
