It’s nice to meet you to! So when did you join us? 🙂 I’ve been on here for a while now, but I’m not always as active as I should be. Yes, character creation is so much fun!

I do enjoy a good mystery novel. I’ve read several Agatha Christie’s books especially the ones with Miss Marple, but I think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and G. K. Chesterton are better.

Agatha would write her novels from the end to the beginning, starting with who did it and how could she make sure the reader could not possibly guess who did it. She’s misleading. It’s all about shock factor. I don’t know exactly what process the two guys used, but it always gave me the feeling that it was never just about shocking the reader. G. K. always had some sort of spiritual point to make, sometimes something that would make me pause and think about life. He’s deep, and his characters are three dimensional in surprising ways. Two of the reasons why he’s currently my favorite. 🙂 But I’d recommend Doyle as well if you’re ever interested in reading a good mystery. With him it’s about impressing the reader with the complexity of the puzzle. Doyle’s goal isn’t that the reader has no chance of guessing who did it, it’s about making them work to figure it out. His mysteries are satisfying and his main characters have a lot of depth.

Yeah all that is the result of who knows how many hours of research. 🙂 Mystery is one of my favorite genres to read in.

I love your character idea! Sounds unique and fun to write. And a relatible theme, something that can encourage people. I think if we can do it just right than it’s perfect. 🙂
