*squints at you and Faith*
Have you been stalking me? Because that sounds awfully similar to my life. XD
To be honest though, while I can spend pretty much all day analyzing things or world-building or creating characters or researching…. actually writing is hard. Really, really hard. For one, I haven’t found a “voice” that I prefer above all others for my WIP, or have even really decided exactly on how the plot’s going to go. I have the basic groundwork, but a lot of it is more guess and go. And I think I’m getting a lot better at actually writing down and keeping track of my plots now that I’m in SE and have been seriously wanting to write this novel, but it’s still hard.
For one, I want to start writing on page 1. And page 1 is constantly changing, shifting, and messing up because I need a good, interesting way to introduce a novel that’s not a fast-paced thriller. It’s a bit slower, a bit more character than plot focused, and a bit less defined so far than I like it. So actually writing is tough.
I’ve been thinking of doing Nanowrimo this year again, since last time I did it I managed to pull 30,000 words from thin air(all of which were scrapped later but oh well *sigh*), and it’s a good exercise to motivate me to put down the editing/analyzing pen and actually write.
Anyhow, this was a great article! Thanks for sharing it with us. 😉
