Well… I personally stink at marketing for the most part, and I also haven’t done a whole lot with it yet. (Since all I’ve published so far are short stories that I don’t really want to make a huge deal of, I haven’t done a lot of marketing for them.) But I think every author starts out stinking at marketing and just has to learn through trial-and-error and asking for advice from more experienced authors, so I wouldn’t let that hold you back. My best advice is that you do research ahead of time and make a plan for marketing around your book launch. In my experience, having promotional graphics is a good idea, particularly for social media, because they’ll catch a reader’s eye more easily than something more text-based.
