So, in my research, I came across this amazing article on the Write Practice that emphasis that good conflict come not only from villains and high intense drama but also with values.

Here is an interesting example the author gave of this, “Elizabeth Bennet, our heroine from Pride & Prejudice, values honesty, humility, intelligence, kindness, and her family (am I missing any?). Her conflict with Mr. Darcy was on the basis of these values. She thought he was dishonest, prideful, rude, and worst of all, he ‘ruined the happiness of a most beloved sister.’ ”

If any of you have read P&P, you know that there really isn’t any big gun-fights, espionage, battle scenes, etc. Overall, I found that the conflict of values is actually really important in grounding a good story. 🙂
