@allison-grace Inspiration isn’t plagiarism, for sure. I mean, I’m sure you can add more of your own spin, but I don’t think you should worry over it too much. SW, Narnia, LOTR are all amazing. I think it’s pretty naturally to turn to them for inspiration.

I think especially since you’re drawing inspiration from all over (even, as you mentioned, combining 2 characters), your story won’t look like a replica of another text. For example, if you wrote a story about 3 characters loosely based of Yoda, Aslan, and Gandalf, that would be a whole interesting story of its own with plenty of room for creativity and originality.
