Yes, there are definately a lot of annoying fantasy tropes, but some of them arn’t as bad as I thought they were. (I am kinda a hypocrite because I am actually using dragons in my current WIP. *cough* I’m starting to like them. 😛)

Fantasy without magic?! That’s cool! Go you for being unique and original! Yeah, building worlds and cultures is so much fun! I’ve been guilty of spending more time worldbuilding than actually writing just because it is so much fun!!! 😁

Haha, I am sure you wouldn’t have been a heretic. 😉 But yeah, you are right…all of a sudden it was BOOM! everybody is writing fantasy now. Oh well, I don’t think it’s all bad. 🙂

Right now, kinda as a side project I am working on a really quirky fantasy story where basically I take a bunch of fantasy tropes and turn them around and make them bizarre. It’s super light and fun and kinda gives me a break from the darker, heavier stuff I am working on.

Aw, thanks! You are so understanding…it means so much to me. 🤗 I am kinda a perfectionist (but only in my writing, weirdly enough) and so I imagine that my story, even if it’s not good, will at least be decent and make sense, but than I start writing and it’s trash and than I get mad and give up. *sigh* So I kinda just go on these exhausting cycles and never get any writing done. But yes, I am going to work at finding an accountability partner or I will start a thread on here.

(Also, did you realize how we just hijacked Daeus’ thread and totally started our own discussion? 😬 Whoops…)
