Motive: Leave the resistance.

I just can’t stay here anymore. I don’t know what it is but I’ve been getting this feeling, like I don’t belong with them. For the time I’ve been here I have just done them more harm than good. I need to leave. It would be better to leave in the morning, if they think I’m going out collecting cogs then I have more time before my plan has been found out. They might think I have been captured and try to follow me though. I need to make it like I was never here at all, maybe if I remove all traces of me being here they will forget about me. One can only hope.

Hearing the goodbyes thrown at me, I looked up just as the door to the basement was closing. “They left sooner than they normally do. Maybe something is happening tomorrow that I didn’t know about. Have they been talking about plans without me?” Thinking that just strengthened my resolve to leave. Glancing at the clock I saw it was already ten o’clock. Alexander and Selina would be in bed by now, I have nothing to fear from them hearing me moving around. Going towards what was designated as my corner I stared at all the mementos I have collected from my time here. An empty Pringles can sat on one shelf with a framed picture of the entire group before the mission to the Fogworks. Taking the picture from its frame I rolled it up and placed it into the Pringle can. I need to pack light; to much would weigh me down. Tracing my fingers across the face of a hand stitched Scarlet Man, I gazed at it with reverence. Everyone gets one when they join; that doesn’t make it any less special though. Shoving the plush into my pack along side the Pringles can I moved onto my clothes.
