The Immortal sighed, snapping her fingers and separating the girl from Ben. Reaching through the wall, she grasped the piece of twine around Ben’s neck and pulled hard, breaking it with a snap. She carefully pulled out the piece of Ektos. She let it drop at his feet before starting another fire, closing the walls to where the boy had no choice but to stand above the flames. There would be no room for the girl. She watched the Ektos swirl into the flames.

Ben cried out, clutching his leg as the fire burned through his pants and tore at his skin. His sensitive skin blistered instantly, flesh boiling, as the smoke choked him. Agony climbed up his legs, wanting to devour him.

“Yes, we’ll start there,” Levi nodded. She started in that direction, not looking to make sure the others were following. She was sure they were and it was their bad luck if they weren’t.
